CHICAGO & PHILADELPHIA (February 7, 2026) – Howard University men's track & field team took part in the Badger's Windy City Invitational (Feb. 6-7), hosted by the University of Wisconsin, and Penn Classic (Feb. 6-7), hosted by the Quakers.
WINDY CITY INVITATIONAL
In first place for the triple jump is fifth-year senior
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) with a mark of 15.31 meters (50'2.75"). The Virginia native also competed in the long jump, landing in ninth place (6.91 meters).
On the track, senior
Jorim Bangue (Yaounde, Cameroon) and sophomore
Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) took third (7.93) and fifth (8.03), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles final. Senior
Justin Watterson (Las Vegas) also participated, finishing eighth overall (8.09).
Junior
Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) earned bronze in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.89.
Senior
Dylan Gaines (Houston) placed second in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 21.52.
Gaines, Emerson, alongside sophomores
Jayvian Greene (Gainesville, Fla.) and
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) took fourth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:15.
PENN CLASSIC
On the track, freshman
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) earned sixth place in the 800-meter dash with a time of 1:53.
In the field, fellow classmate
Martin Ohakah (Glen Burnie, Md.) placed ninth overall in the triple jump (13.87 meters) and 13
th in the long jump (6.08 meters).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Feb. 22-23, Howard is set to compete in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Indoor Track & Field Championships, taking place in Virginia Beach, Va.
