NORFOLK, Va. (September 22, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's volleyball weekly awards where Howard University saw a pair of Bison recognized for their incredible performances. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Seniors
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) and
Leah Reeves (Allen, Texas) took home the league's Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively.
In two matchups, McKinnon tallied 33 kills (4.13/set), 17 digs and four blocks. She posted a match-leading 16 kills and four blocks in the victory over High Point (Sept. 18). Two days later (Sept. 20), the Alabama native registered her 10
th double-double of the season (17 kills & 17 digs) at UMBC.
Reeves notched 79 assists (9.88/set), 12 digs, five blocks and four kills in the two-match span. She produced a match-high 34 assists in Thursday's victory over the Panthers. The Texas product secured her second double-double of the year (45 assists & 10 digs) at UMBC.

Aziah Buckner (Memphis, Tenn.) and rookie setter
Alexys James (Houston) earned honorable mention.
Maryland Eastern Shore's Jayda Hutchins earned MEAC Rookie of the Week while fellow Hawk Valaria Matias was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard is set to play a pair of conference matchups inside The Burr. Friday (Sept. 26), the Bison play Coppin State at 6 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 28), HU battles Morgan State at 1 p.m.
