WASHINGTON (November 19, 2025) – The Howard University women's volleyball team is set to play in the 2025 Mid-Eastern athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Championship, which will be held Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 20-22, hosted by Coppin State in Baltimore.
Howard will take on Norfolk State University for the opening quarterfinal round at
5 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 20).

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
HOWARD
HU (16-10, 10-4 MEAC) is riding a five-match conference win streak, dating back to Oct. 31. The Lady Bison earned the No. 2 seed going into the tournament.
Senior outside hitter
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) was a standout in Howard's sweep over Norfolk State. She led all players with 14 kills, consistently sparked scoring runs in every set.
COPPIN STATE
Coppin State (20-11, 13-1 MEAC) is the No. 1 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
TaKenya Stafford leads the Eagles in points per set (4.14) and kills per set (3.69).
MORGAN STATE
Morgan State (11-13, 8-6 MEAC) is the No. 3 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
Daniela Ferreira leads the Bears in points per set (3.56) and kills per set (3.02).
DELAWARE STATE
Delaware State (11-17, 7-7 MEAC) is the reigning MEAC Tournament Champion, entering as the No. 4 seed.
Gerren Tomlin leads the Lady Hornets in points per set (3.85), along with total kills (366).
MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE
Maryland Eastern Shore (10-17, 7-7 MEAC) is the No. 5 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
Karlieys Melendez leads the Hawks in point per set (2.57) and total kills (206).
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
NCCU (10-17, 7-7 MEAC) is the No. 6 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
Kamren Harper leads the Eagles in point per set (3.08) and kills per set (2.82).
NORFOLK STATE
Norfolk (5-23, 3-11 MEAC) is the No. 7 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
Gabrielle Gilbert leads the Spartans in point per set (4.56) and kills per set (3.93).
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
South Carolina State (5-22, 1-13 MEAC) is the No. 8 seed going into the MEAC Tournament.
Kiyah Felder leads Lady Bulldogs in point per set (3.10) and kills per set (2.79).
