WASHINGTON (April 29, 2026) – Howard University women's golf team earned the No. 12 seed in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional (May 11-13) where they will compete at the UNC Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill, N.C., hosted by the Tar Heels. The announcement took place during the NCAA Selection Show, live on the Golf Channel Wednesday afternoon.
The squad watched the announcement at the Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, Md.
Sunday (April 26), the Bison captured their first-ever NEC championship in Ellicott City, Md.
Tuesday (April 28), the NEC revealed its women's golf postseason honors and major awards where HU saw six Bison recognized for their historic season.

Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) made conference history, becoming the first five teammates to earn All-NEC First Team honors in the same season.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 11-13. Fifteen teams and nine individuals not on those teams will compete for one additional day of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play competition and the 72-hole stroke play individual champion. The top eight teams then compete in match play for the team national championship to be decided May 27.
Texas received the top spot in the stacked Chapel Hill region. Squads competing in the Amherst region include Howard, UNC, Texas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kent State, Virginia, Michigan State, North Carolina State, High Point, Furman and Richmond.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 22-27 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. Texas is the host institution for the 2026 championships.
