36 Bison Receive NEC Spring Academic Honors

Golf and Lacrosse recognized for academic excellence

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (June 17, 2025) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) uncovered its 2025 Spring Academic Honors where Howard University saw 36 Bison across three programs (men's & women's golf and women's lacrosse) recognized for their academic excellence. The announcement came Tuesday.
 
All 36 Bison made the NEC Academic Honor Roll after earning a 3.2 grade point average (GPA) during the 2025 spring campaign.
 
The honorees included Dayana Allen (Sharon Hill, Pa.), Berkeley Clayborne (Highland Park, Ill.), Chase Coleman (Houston), Layla Collins (Houston), Colby Cooper (Upper Marlboro, Md.), Leah Croom (Miami), Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.), Marley Franklin (Los Angeles), Hugo Garcia (Dubai, UAE), Adriyana Garrison (Wilmington, N.C.), Justin Green (Chesapeake, Va.), Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada), Taylor Harris (Kennesaw, Ga.), Alaythia Hinds (Rancho Murieta, Calif.), Morgan Horrell (Dallas), Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas), Jaide Kelly (Gwinnett, Ga.), Victoriah Kuranga (Atlanta), Raela London (Culver City, Calif.), Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica), Erin Mobley (Philadelphia), Laniah Moffett (Waterbury, Conn.), Gabrielle Nelson (Cincinnati), Kyla Newkirk (Durham, N.C.), Mathis Perroni (Metz, France), Laina Ramey, Jada Richardson (Suwanee, Ga.), Marley Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.), Makenna Rodriguez (Delray Beach, Fla.), Chloe Ronsholdt (Stafford, Va.), Tea Vasquez (Oakland, Calif.), Cecilia Vitti (Detroit), Sawyer Walker (Magnolia, Del.), Ji'reh Williams (Gainesville, Fla.), Kimora Williams (Marlton, N.J.) and Taylor Williams (West Chester, Pa.).
 
Additionally, 15 Bison were named to the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll after producing a 3.75 GPA during the 2024-25 academic year: Collins; Croom; Garcia; Green; Harris; Hinds; Horrell; Kuranga; London; Nelson; Ramey; Richardson; Vasquez; Vitti and J. Williams.
 
Collectively, the conference recognized over 1,400 student-athletes with more than 500 making the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
During the 2024-25 academic year, 3,397 NEC student-athletes earned recognition on the Academic Honor Roll, comprising more than two-thirds of all NEC competitors. Additionally, there were 1,273 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, the fourth-highest tally on record.
 
Howard Director of Golf Sam Puryear and the men's golf team look to three-peat as NEC Champions while the women's squad continue its pursuit for a NEC title in spring 2026.
 
For lacrosse, head coach Karen Healy-Silcott and the Bison look to capture their first NEC crown next spring.
