EUGENE, Ore. (June 12, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field punched two entries into the final round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., hosted by the University of Oregon.
Graduates
Kailei Collins (Houston) and
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom), senior
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) and sophomore
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) opened Day Two with the 4x100 relay, setting a new program-best with a non AQ mark of 43.08.
USC posted the fastest time during the semifinal round (42.55), edging out South Carolina (42.88).
Saturday's (June 14) 4x100 final round is slated for 9:02 p.m. (ET) / 6:02 p.m. (PT).
Individually, Sey moved on to Championship Saturday after producing a nonautomatic qualifying time of 12.88.
UCLA's Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck held the top spot at 12.71, followed by Oregon's Aaliyah McCormick (12.76).
Saturday's short hurdles championship race starts at 9:42 p.m. (ET) / 6:42 p.m. (PT).
Other noteworthy performances included junior
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) coming up short of advancing to Saturday's 400-meter hurdles final round. The Tar Heel native missed the last entry by five-thousandths of a second (56.437) to TCU's Amelliah Birdow (56.432). Despite the setback, she grabbed All-American Second Team recognition, becoming only the second woman in program history to earn All-American status in the long hurdles (
Jessica Wright – 2022 & 2023).
Collins also competed individually, taking part in the 100-meter dash. The Houston product fell short of advancing to Championship Saturday, but received honorable mention from the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association).
