Sey Earns MEAC Weekly Award

All-American wins MEAC Track Athlete of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. (April 1, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's track & field weekly awards where Howard University All-American graduate Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) earned the league's Track Athlete of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
 
At the UCF Knights Invitational (March 27-28) in Orlando, Fla., Sey finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles with a MEAC-best 13.06, which ranks fourth nationally.
 
Senior thrower Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) received honorable mention after placing seventh in the shot put with a conference-best throw of 14.25 meters.
 
Delaware State sophomore Valerie Ashamu earned MEAC Field Athlete of the Week.
 
On April 2-4, Howard is set to head down to Austin, Texas for the annual Texas Relays.
