HU (29-18) entered the tourney as the No. 1 seed and won its opening round matchup versus No. 4 Morgan State (MSU) Wednesday (May 7), 5-1.
Tuesday (May 6), the MEAC revealed its softball postseason teams and major awards where HU saw a program-best 11 Bison acknowledged for their incredible performances during the 2025 season, highlighted by freshman standout
Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) winning the league's prestigious Rookie of the Year award.
DELAWARE STATE
Wednesday (May 7), DSU (26-21) secured a pair of victories over No. 6 South Carolina State, 4-1, and No. 2 Norfolk State, 3-2 (f/8).
Delaware State is led by All-MEAC Second Team pitcher Kristin White.
LAST TIMEOUT
Wednesday (May 7), No. 1 HU knocked off No. 4 MSU, 5-1, thanks to clutch hitting from graduate
Ameenah Ballenger (Lansdown, Pa.) and junior
Maryn Jordan (San Diego). Ballenger also picked up the win in relief, tossing 2.1 innings.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The winner between No. 1 Howard and No. 3 Delaware State advances to Saturday's title game. Game time is slated for noon.
