Three Bison Grab MEAC Track & Field Weekly Accolades

Bison acknowledged for their efforts in Greensboro

NORFOLK, Va. (May 7, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its men's and women's track & field weekly accolades where Howard University had three Bison acknowledged for their efforts at the Aggie Classic (May 2-3). The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
 
Graduates Kailei Collins (Houston) and Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) won Women's and Men's Track Athletes of the Week, respectively, while senior jumper Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) took home the league's Men's Field Athlete of the Week.
 
In Greensboro, Collins placed second overall in the 200-meter dash, running a MEAC-best time of 23.10, which ranks 39th in the nation.
 
At the Aggie Classic, Langford took third in the short hurdles (110-meter), clocking in at a league-best 13.91 mark.
 
Fisher earned silver in the triple jump with a MEAC-leading 15.63 meters, sitting 31st in the nation.
 
Junior thrower Temi Banwo (Los Angeles) grabbed honorable mention after tossing 47.08 meters in the discus.
 
North Carolina Central junior Tia Lucas and Delaware State freshman Valerie Ashamu earned Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors.
 
On May 15-17, HU heads to Norfolk, Va., for the 2025 MEAC Outdoor Championships.
