GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 3, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field team concluded its spring season at the Aggie Classic (May 2-3), hosted by North Carolina A&T State in Greensboro, N.C.
HU grabbed four victories during the two-day event.
Juniors
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.),
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) and
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) and second-year Bison
Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) competed in the 4x100 relay, winning the race with a 44.13 mark.
Individually, seniors
Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) and
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) took first (17:36.96) and second (18:24.88), respectively, in the 5K run.
Rookie
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) claimed the top spot with a 11:29.74 time in the 3K run.
Fellow classmate and DMV native
Kendall Robinson (Bowie, Md.) placed second overall in the 800-meter run (2:13.70).
Graduate
Ariana Smith (Pennsville, N.J.), newcomer
Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) and junior
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa, Fla.) took part in the short hurdles (100-meter), finishing third (13.39/43
rd in the country), fifth (13.61) and sixth (13.64), respectively. Woodruff also competed in the race, producing a 13.49 mark (fourth).
Other noteworthy performances on the track included graduate
Kailei Collins (Houston) earning runner-up in the 100-meter dash (11.37/season-best) and 200-meter dash (23.10), respectively.
In the field, graduate
Erin Hatcher (Silver Spring, Md.) led the way with a victory in the hammer throw (57.51 meters).
Junior
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) earned silver in the shot put, tossing 14.22 meters.
Fellow classmates
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) and
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) claimed second (12.23 meters) and third (12.22 meters), respectively, in the triple jump. Wajd also competed in the event, taking fourth overall (12.21 meters).
On May 15-17, HU heads to Norfolk, Va., for the 2025 MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships.
