WASHINGTON (May 4, 2025) – Howard University sophomore
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) is traveling to her home state, becoming the first Bison in program history to compete in a conference's individual tournament. On May 5-7, she will be competing in the Charlottesville Regional, hosted by the University of Virginia (UVA). The Regional will be played at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.

HISTORY
Since 1982, the NCAA women's golf regional has been taking place, alongside the NCAA championship program. This year will mark the 43
rd year of the NCAA women's golf championship.
The Charlottesville Regional will be hosted by UVA for the first time this May. The Cavaliers will be hosting 12 teams and six individuals to determine participants in the 2025 NCAA Women's Golf Championship Finals.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
The Birdwood Golf Course is a public golf course located in Charlottesville, Va. Originally designed by Lindsay Ervin in 1984, the current course was redesigned by Davis Love III in 2020. This 18-hole course measures 7,116 yards, has a par of 71 and a slope rating of 145. It is rated 80.8 and ranked as one of the top 10 courses in all of Virginia.
Paris will be competing against five individuals in the Charlottesville Regional. Her competition will be Pinky Chaisilprungruang (Charlotte), Nicha Kanpai (Maryland), Isabella Rawl (Clemson), Melena Barrientos (Clemson) and Hannah Altman (UNCW).
Fieldings had a great first season with the Bison, finishing in the top 5 in five different tournaments. The Virginia native has a 74.8 average per round and won the 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) individual medal.
LAST TIMEOUT
On April 11-13, Fieldings put her name in Howard's record book by becoming the first Bison to win a NEC (Northeast Conference) Individual title. She led the Bison, shooting 11-over par (227) throughout the weekend. Her efforts earned her a spot on the All-Tournament Team, alongside two other Bison: senior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) and junior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
With a tournament victory, Fieldings will head to the NCAA Championships (May 16-21) at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
