JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 30, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field program punched two tickets to Eugene, Ore., for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships after Friday's exciting quarterfinal round.

Graduate Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) led the way in dominant fashion, winning his 400-meter hurdles heat with an automatic qualifying time of 49.50 (personal best). Only fellow HBCU alum Xzaviah Taylor (North Carolina A&T State) posted a faster mark in the quarterfinal round (49.18). Coppin State's Jarrett Gentles secured the other AQ spot (49.78).

Langford, sophomore Emerson McKindra (Linden, N.J.) and freshmen Cameron Brazell (Houston) and Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) earned the second entry to Eugene, running a non-automatic qualifying time of 3:03.88 in the 4x400 relay race.

South Florida holds the fastest mark heading into Eugene with a 3:01.52 time, edging out Florida (3:02.01).

In the field, seniors Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) and Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) took part in the triple jump, but fell short of advancing to Eugene.

On the women's side, Nneka Ezeama (Smithfield, R.I.) resumed competition in the shot put after yesterday's postponement due to inclement weather. The Rhode Island native threw for nearly 50 feet (15.03 meters) but came up short in moving on.

The 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Ore.
