HOWARD
HU (26-18) is looking to bounce back after its last outing at Maryland Tuesday (April 29), 9-2.
Next week's conference tournament (May 7-10), Howard is the top seed after winning its first outright MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) regular season title.
Senior
Kenna Higa (Honolulu) was named MEAC Player of the Week after helping Howard sweep Norfolk State while clinching the regular season title. She hit .583 with seven hits, six runs, five RBIs, three doubles, a home run and two stolen bases. This season, Higa ranks second in the MEAC in batting average, slugging percentage and OPS.

Ameenah Ballenger (Lansdown, Pa.) and newcomer
Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) received honorable mention.
LONGWOOD
Longwood (20-28) enters Sunday's showdown after a three-game sweep against USC Upstate.
Naleya Bridges hit three home runs while batting .600 last weekend. Maryanna Guy leads the team with 11 home runs and had two-RBI performance in the series finale. Er'ron Burton tossed two complete-game shutouts in the sweep.

On April 29, Howard dropped a 9-2 decision at Maryland.

Bri Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) led the Bison at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and tallying two of the team's three hits.

Howard heads to Norfolk, Va., for the MEAC Tournament, taking place May 7-10. The Bison open play Wednesday, May 7 at 8 p.m.
