HOWARD
HU (31-19) looks to outlast Coastal Carolina in the first of two elimination games Saturday afternoon. Howard is also seeking its first NCAA Tournament win in program history.
On May 6, the MEAC revealed its softball postseason teams and major awards where HU saw a program-best 11 Bison acknowledged for their incredible performances during the 2025 season, highlighted by freshman standout
Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) winning the league's prestigious Rookie of the Year award.
COASTAL CAROLINA
Friday (May 16), Coastal Carolina (41-18) suffered a 6-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
Thursday (May 15), the program made history as four student-athletes were recognized with NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) All-Region honors. Georgia Hood earned a spot on the NFCA All-Region First Team, becoming the first Chanticleer to receive first-team honors since Meagan Johnson in 2006. Delaney Keith, Nicolette Picone and Keirstin Roose were named to the Second Team.
LAST TIMEOUT
Friday (May 16), the Bison made their third NCAA Regional appearance Friday afternoon where they fell to host school Duke, 12-0, in five innings.
Offensively, seniors
Payton Quinonez (Tulare, Calif.) and
Lealani Ricks (Madera, Calif.) both record hits against the ranked opponent in the fifth and final inning.
