HOWARD
HU (31-18) enters the regional after winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title for the third time in program history. Howard received the MEAC's automatic bid after defeating South Carolina State on Championship Saturday (May 10), 6-1.

Ameenah Ballenger (Lansdown, Pa.) was named Tournament Most Outstanding Player after earning her 12
th win of the season, while head coach
Tori Tyson received Most Outstanding Coach honors. Senior
Mia Gonzales (Atwater, Calif.) also earned MEAC All-Tournament recognition.
On May 6, the MEAC revealed its softball postseason teams and major awards where HU saw a program-best 11 Bison acknowledged for their incredible performances during the 2025 season, highlighted by freshman standout
Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) winning the league's prestigious Rookie of the Year award.
DUKE
Duke (38-16) fell in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament Semifinals to No. 5 Florida State, 3-2.
This season, the Blue Devils secured significant wins against nationally ranked opponents, including victories over No. 14 Missouri and No. 5 Northwestern.
Graduate third baseman Thessa Malau'ulu earned the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award, achieving a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 27 putouts and 41 assist in conference play.

On Feb. 21, HU fell to No. 11 Duke, 13-1 (f/5) at the Mary Nutter Classic in Palm Springs, Calif.
