WASHINGTON (April 5, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team is traveling to College Park, Md., to participate in the first Terps Invitational. The two-day (April 6-7), 54-hole tournament will occur at The University of Maryland Golf Course (7,015 yards, par-71).
The opening rounds will start Sunday (April 6) with a shotgun start at 8:30 am, followed by the second round later that evening. The tournament will wrap up Monday (April 7) with a shotgun start at 8:30 am.

HISTORY
This will be the first year the University of Maryland will host the Terps Invitational.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
The University of Maryland Golf Course is a semi-private golf course located in College Park, Md. In 1958, the golf course was designed by George W Cobb and later remodeled by Bill Love (2008). The 18-hole course is 7,015 yards, par-71 with a 137 slope. This course is rated 73.7, hosting numerous tournaments, including the Melwood Prince George's County Open.
This year's tournament participants include Howard, Maryland, Pennsylvania State University, University of Delaware, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, University of Richmond, Harvard University, U.S. Naval Academy, Georgetown University, James Madison University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Michigan, High Point University and University of Notre Dame.
LAST TIMEOUT
On April 1-2, Howard took home the Renee Powell Cup at the Women in Golf National Collegiate, which took place at the Golf Course at Cinco Ranch in Katy, Texas.
Freshman
Alaythia Hinds (Rancho Murieta, Calif.) led the Bison, finishing first place after shooting 4-over par (217).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Howard will compete in the NEC (Northeast Conference) Championship in Williamsburg, Va., at the Kingsmill Resort Plantation Course (April 11-13).
