WASHINGTON (April 25, 2025) – The Howard University softball team takes on Norfolk State (NSU) in a MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) three-game series in Norfolk, Va., beginning Saturday (April 26) with doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by a seven-inning contest Sunday (April 27) at noon.

HU (23-17, 17-1 MEAC) looks to extend its win streak while clinching the MEAC regular season title and No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) claiming Rookie of the Week for batting .500 with five runs and an inside-the-park homer. Senior

NORFOLK STATE
NSU (21-18, 14-4 MEAC) faced UNC Wednesday (April 23), falling to the Tar Heels, 12-1.
As of today, Norfolk State holds the No. 2 spot entering this weekend's showdown with HU.
LAST TIMEOUT
On April 18-19, Howard completed a season sweep versus Morgan State, 3-0.
Higa led the offense with two home runs and multiple doubles while senior
Alyssa Vasquez (Eastvale, Calif.) had a walk-off triple.

Lealani Ricks (Madera, Calif.) hit a grand slam and Jones added her first career homer in a strong weekend at the plate.
