WASHINGTON (April 17, 2025) – The Howard University softball team takes on Morgan State (MSU) in a crucial MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) three-game series in D.C., beginning Friday (April 18) with doubleheader at 2:30 p.m., followed by a seven-inning contest Saturday (April 19) at 12:30 p.m. on Senior Day.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
HOWARD
HU (20-17, 14-1 MEAC) looks to extend its win streak while remaining atop of the conference standings.
Freshman
Lauryn Jones (Denton, Texas) earned her third MEAC Rookie of the Week honor after going 4-for-7 with three runs, three stolen bases and two RBIs in Howard's sweep over Coppin State (CSU). Currently, she leads the league with 24 runs scored.
MORGAN STATE
MSU (13-23, 9-6 MEAC) faced Norfolk State University (April 12-13), falling to the Spartans, 3-0.
As of today, Morgan State holds the No. 3 spot with only six conference games remaining.
LAST TIMEOUT
On April 13-14, Howard completed a season sweep versus CSU.
Graduate pitcher
Ameenah Ballenger (Lansdown, Pa.) tossed a five-inning no-hitter with six strikeouts in the series finale while adding an RBI at the plate.
Fellow classmate
Bri Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs in the same game and contributed an RBI single in the opener to spark Howard's offense all weekend.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On April 26-27, Howard faces Norfolk State (NSU) in a MEAC three-games series in Norfolk, Va. Saturday (April 26), HU takes on NSU in a doubleheader at 1 p.m., followed by a seven-inning contest Sunday (April 27) at noon.
