WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 13, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team came up just short of winning its first conference title in program history, falling one stroke to FDU at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship in Williamsburg, Va.
Collectively, the Bison shot 64-over par (928).
Sophomore golfer
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) spearheaded HU throughout the tournament despite the heartbreak, becoming the first Bison in school history to win the conference's individual title. The Virginia native posted a 227 (+11) in 54 holes of action.
Senior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) tied for fourth overall after shooting 17-over par (233).
Second-year Bison
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica) placed seventh on the player leaderboard, recording 20-over par (236).
For their efforts, all three Bison were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Junior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) rounded out the Bison, tying for 12
th place (240, +24).
FDU won its 10
th NEC title after finishing 63-over par (927). Apichaya Chirakurnakorn led the Knights, shooting 14-over par (230) while earning runner-up behind Fieldings.
