WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (April 12, 2025) – After Friday's (April 11) opening round was suspended due to inclement weather, the 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Golf Championship resumed play Saturday morning where Howard University holds a slim lead after two rounds of play.
After a long day of 36 holes, the Bison shot 41-over par (617) with several golfers in the top 10.
Sophomore
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) leads the way, shooting 6-over par (150) after two rounds.
Three-time All-NEC selection senior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) shot 10-over par (154) while reigning NEC Rookie of the Year sophomore
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica) posted a 158 (+14) in 36 holes.
Third-year Bison
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) rounded out the squad, registering 18-over par (162).
After round one, Howard Director of Golf
Sam Puryear subbed in freshman
Alaythia Hinds (Rancho Murieta, Calif.) for All-NEC selection junior
Morgan Horrell (Dallas). In round one, Horrell shot 8-over par (80) while Hinds produced a 3-over par (75) performance in the second round.
FDU remains in striking distance, just four strokes behind the Bison with one round left.
Sunday's (April 13) round begins at 8:30 a.m., at the Kingsmill Resort (par-72, 6,083 yards) in Williamsburg, Va.
