Women’s Golf Gears Up for the Tulane Classic

Bison are on their way to the French Quarter

WASHINGTON (March 8, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team heads to New Orleans to compete in the Tulane Classic, presented by Chad Brownstein. The three-day (March 9-11), 54-hole tournament will occur at the English Turn Golf & Country Club (6,280 yards, par-72).
 
The tournament will consist of one round of 18 holes each day. Tee time Sunday (March 9) will begin at 9:18 a.m. ET (8:18 a.m. CT) and 9:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. CT) Monday (March 10). Tuesday (March 11) will be a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET (8:30 a.m. CT).

HISTORY
 
The annual Tulane Classic, presented by Chad Brownstein, is held at the English Turn Golf & Country Club. Last year, Colorado State dominated the leaderboard with a total score of 822 (+18) while Howard secured an 11th-place finish, shooting 917 (+53) overall.
 
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
 
English Turn Golf & Country Club is a private course in New Orleans, originally designed by Jack Nicklaus for the 1988 New Orleans PGA Tour event. This par-72, 6,280-yard Signature Course is known for its unique character, featuring undulating greens and water in play on the 17 of its 18 holes. The 18th hole has been ranked among the toughest on tour multiple times.
 
This year's 12-team tournament participants include Howard, Tulane, Cal Poly Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Columbia, Harvard, Iowa, Memphis, Missouri, North Carolina A&T State, Notre Dame, Princeton, Southern Mississippi, Texas State, UTEP and Wichita State.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
On March 3-4, the team finished second at the Lady Bison invite, which was held at The Hawkstone Country Club in Gainesville, Fla.
 
Senior Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) led the Bison with an impressive performance, finishing second overall with a 2-over par (215) performance. Her standout play earned her Northeast Conference (NEC) Women's Golfer of the Week.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
The women's team is set to travel to Austin, Texas for the Betsy Rawls Invitational (March 17- 18).
