MEAC Reveals Bracket Seedings for the 2025 Basketball Tournament

Bison women set to play Wednesday; Bison men begin title defense Thursday

NORFOLK, Va. (March 7, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed the bracket seedings for the 2025 Basketball Tournament after Thursday's regular season finale.
 
Howard University is set to play Wednesday (March 12) with the women's squad facing Delaware State (DSU) in the quarterfinal round, followed by the men's team Thursday (March 13) taking on Beltway rival Morgan State (MSU) in the first round.
 
HU women finished the regular season with a 12-2 MEAC record (19-10 overall), clinching the No. 2 seed with their only conference losses against Norfolk State (NSU). The squad swept DSU during the regular season. Wednesday's showdown is scheduled for 2 p.m.
 
Howard men earned the No. 4 seed with a 7-7 MEAC record (12-19 overall). The club swept MSU during the regular season; thus, securing the tiebreaker despite the same conference record. Thursday's clash is slated for 6 p.m.
 
Norfolk State women locked up the top seed after clinching the MEAC Regular Season title with an unblemished 14-0 conference record.
 
On the men's side, NSU and South Carolina State (SCSU) shared the league's regular season crown. Norfolk State garnered the top seed after winning the tiebreaker against SCSU.
 
The 2025 MEAC Basketball Tournament is a single-elimination competition showcasing both men's and women's teams from the conference. Quarterfinal and semifinal matchups will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Saturday (March 15), the men's finale begins at 1 p.m., and will broadcast live on ESPN2 while the women's championship game starts at 4 p.m., and will air live on ESPNews.
