WASHINGTON (March 4, 2025) – The Howard University women's lacrosse team begins its three-game road trip with a midweek battle against Old Dominion (ODU). The Bison face the Monarchs Wednesday (March 5) at 11 a.m., in Norfolk, Va., looking to rebound after a hard-fought contest against George Mason.

HOWARD
Howard (0-5) enters the matchup following a competitive outing against George Mason with standout performances from rookies
Kyla Newkirk (Durham, N.C.) and
Leah Croom (Miami) highlighting the contest. Newkirk recorded her first collegiate hat trick in the 19-7 loss while Croom added two goals, continuing to be a key offensive presence.
Marley Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.) and sophomore
Chloe Ronsholdt (Stafford, Va.) also contributed goals in the effort.
In goal, freshman duo
Taylor Williams (West Chester, Pa.) and
Madeline Willocks (Freeport, N.Y.) combined for 10 saves. The Pennsylvania native posted a .545 save percentage in the second half.
As the Bison continue their development with a young squad, they will look to tighten their defense and capitalize on offensive opportunities against Old Dominion.
OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion enters the matchup as a strong contender, competing in the American Athletic Conference. The Monarchs bring a balanced attack and disciplined defense, making them a formidable opponent on their home turf.
With experience on their side, ODU will look to dictate the tempo and control possession throughout the contest.
