GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 4, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team took second overall at the Lady Bison Invitational, hosted by HU. The two-day (March 3-4), 54-hole tourney was held at the Hawkstone Country Club (par-71, 6,505 yards).
Senior
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas), junior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) and sophomore transfer
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) each finished in the Top 5 individually.
Jackson led the charge, shooting 2-over par (215) in three days, including a 3-under (68) performance in round two.
Franklin (220, +7) and Fieldings (221, +8) earned third and fourth, respectively, to round out the Top 5.
Reigning Northeast Conference (NEC) Golfer of the Week
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) and freshman
Laniah Moffett (Waterbury, Conn.) tied for 14
th overall on the player leaderboard.
Second-year Bison
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica), reigning NEC Rookie of the Year, finished 20
th place (238, +25).
Collectively, the Bison shot 886 (+34), just six strokes back from this year's champion Queen-Charlotte (880, +28). Grace Vetter led the squad, winning the individual medal with an 1-under par (212) effort in three days of work.
The team is set to travel to New Orleans for the Tulane Classic, presented by Chad Bronstein (March 9-11).
