Track & Field Branches Off for Pair of Historic Outdoor Meets

Bison to compete in both Texas and Raleigh Relays

WASHINGTON (March 26, 2025) - Howard University men's and women's track and field programs split up to compete in two major outdoor meets this week: the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays (hosted by The University of Texas at Austin) and Raleigh Relays (hosted by North Carolina State University).
 
The Texas Relays (March 26-29) will be held at Mike A. Myers Stadium (707 Clyde Littlefield Dr, Austin, TX 78705). In Raleigh, the action kicks off Thursday (March 27) and runs through Saturday (March 29) at Paul Derr Track and Field Facility (2481 Cates Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27695).

MEET PREVIEW
 
RALEIGH RELAYS
 
The outdoor action in Raleigh kicks off Thursday (March 27) at 9:15 a.m., with the men's javelin.
 
Bison Track & Field will send about a dozen athletes to North Carolina State to compete in events, ranging from the men's pole vault to the women's 4x400-meter relay. The competition in Raleigh will wrap up Saturday (March 29) around 5 p.m., with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relay, where the Lady Bison will seek to make some noise in the race.
 
TEXAS RELAYS
 
In Texas, the program sends Bison to compete in events, ranging from the men's 100-meter dash to the women's 4x100-meter relay. The action Thursday begins at 10 a.m., with men's 110-meter hurdles and wraps up Saturday at 4:30 p.m., with men's and women's triple jump.

  • Noah Langford (Graduate Student – Virginia Beach, Va.) – 400-meter hurdles (51.81 at USF) and 4x400-meter relay
  • Zachary Hawkins (Fifth-Year – Lithonia, Ga.) – 110-meter hurdles (14.20 at USF)
  • Kyle Fisher (Senior – Duluth, Ga.) – Long Jump (7.39m at USF) and Triple Jump

The Bison kicked off the outdoor season in Tampa at the USF Alumni Invitational, hosted by the Bulls. Strong showings carry the momentum into the pair of meets ahead.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Following the pair of relays, the program will be set to host the Bison Classic in D.C., along with Gallaudet University Saturday (April 5).
