TAMPA, Fla. (March 22, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field squad displayed supremacy at the annual USF Alumni Invite (March 21-22), hosted by the Bulls, winning three races in Tampa.
Graduates
Kailei Collins (Houston) and
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom), senior
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) and sophomore
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) highlighted the weekend, edging out Tennessee in the 4x100 relay with a 43.83 time. HU defeated the Vols by fourth thousandths of a second.
Individually, Sey and graduate
Ariana Smith (Pennsville, N.J.) represented Bison Nation in the short hurdles (100-meter) where they finished first (13.11) and second (13.51), respectively. Junior
Lauren Thompson (Frisco, Texas) also competed in the race, earning seventh overall (13.80).

Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) took part in the 400-meter hurdles, securing gold (57.89) and bronze (58.24), respectively.

Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) capped off the weekend with a second-place finish, recording a 3:33.32 time.
Other noteworthy performance included newcomer
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) breaking the school benchmark in the 800-meter run, registering a 2:09.11 mark. For her efforts, she shattered a 43-year record held by Gartrude "Betsy" Peace.
In the field, junior
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa, Fla.) return home where she grabbed third place in the triple jump (12.51 meters).
The program will compete in two meets next weekend: Raleigh Relays (March 27-29) and Texas Relays (March 27-29).
