NORFOLK, Va. (March 10, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University freshman guard
Blake Harper (Washington) won the league's Rookie of the Week award for a record-setting and unprecedented 18
th straight week. The announcement came Monday.
Harper averaged 13.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists during the two-game span. After registering 10 points at South Carolina State (March 3), the D.C. native responded with a 17-point effort versus rival Norfolk State (March 6).
This season, Harper leads the MEAC in scoring (19.3 points per game), which ranks 31
st in the nation.
Senior guard
Marcus Dockery (Washington) earned honorable mention, averaging 13.5 points, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals against the Bulldogs and Spartans.
Delaware State's Robert Smith was named MEAC Player of the Week while Morgan State's Daniel Akitoby earned Defensive Player of the Week.
HU takes on Beltway rival Morgan State Thursday (March 13) in the MEAC Quarterfinals. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m., inside the Norfolk Scope Arena.
