NORFOLK, Va. (February 5, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly awards where Howard University freshman standout
Blake Harper (Washington) garnered a pair of accolades. The announcement came Monday (Feb. 3).
Harper took home MEAC Player of the Week for the second time this season while earning the league's Rookie of the Week for the 13
th consecutive week.
Saturday (Feb. 1), Harper tallied 35 points against rival Hampton. The D.C. native shot nearly 91-percent (20-of-22) from the charity stripe while recording three boards and three dimes.
Currently, Harper leads the MEAC in scoring (19.3 points per game).
Norfolk State senior forward Kuluel Mading earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard looks to end its current slide when it hosts North Carolina Central Saturday (Feb. 8) at 4 p.m., inside The Burr.
