VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (February 23, 2025) - Howard University women's track and field leads the herd at this year's 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Bison medaled in five events to earn a score of 59 – 16 points ahead of runner-up Norfolk State.
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) and
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) opened the day with gold (10:18.51) and silver (10:18.78) medals, respectively, in the 3K run. Crosby's time set a new personal best and program record.
Howard's relay team consisting of
Kendall Robinson (Bowie, Md.),
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston),
Jordyn Miller (Chicago) and
Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) closed out the day by winning the women's distance medley relay with a time of 12:07.17.
In the field, junior thrower
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) earned her first individual medal of the week with a silver finish in the women's weight throw with a distance of 16.98 meters.
MEN
On the men's side, the Bison are bringing bronze medals back to The Mecca.
Howard's relay team consisting of
William Shepherd (Plano, Texas),
Justin Watterson (Las Vegas),
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) and
Habtamu Epley (Chicago) ran a time of 10:34.79 to earn eight points for the Bison. The feat moved Howard to fourth place in the overall standings.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Monday (Feb. 24), the Bison women aim to bring home their fourth consecutive title while the HU men look to climb the leaderboard to their first title in 40 years. The action starts at noon on ESPN+.
