CHICAGO (February 15, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field wrapped up the indoor regular season at the annual Windy City Invitational, hosted by the Wisconsin Badgers.
During the two-day event (Feb. 14-15), several Bison put on a show before championship season.
Graduate
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) won the short hurdles (60-meter) with an 8.18 mark.
Juniors
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.) and
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) and newcomers
Cenaiya Billups (Denver) and
Lindsay Johnson (Detroit) ran the 4x400 relay, placing second overall (3:38.05).
Lawson, senior
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and DMV native second-year Bison
Mackenzie Robinson (Bowie, Md.) competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing second (24.15), sixth (24.26) and eighth (24.39), respectively. Lawson also took part in the 400-meter dash, earning fourth place (55.05).
Graduate
Kailei Collins (Houston) made the 60-meter dash final where she set a new school record, producing a 7.42 time while finishing fifth overall.
Another noteworthy performance on the track was senior
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) resetting the program benchmark with a 9:57.26 mark in the 3K run.
In the field, junior
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa) took fifth place in the triple jump after leaping over 40 feet (12.31 meters).
Reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Field Athlete of the Week
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) threw over 56 feet (17.15 meters) in the weight throw, earning fifth overall.
On Feb. 23-24, Howard goes to Virginia Beach, Va., for the 2025 MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
