NORFOLK, Va. (February 10, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University junior forward
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) won the league's Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday.
Thomas averaged 22.0 points and 8.0 rebounds while guiding the club to a perfect 2-0 week. In Monday's (Feb. 3) victory over South Carolina State (SCSU), she notched a double-double (19 points & 10 boards). On Feb. 8, the Cleveland native registered 25 points and six rebounds in the win over North Carolina Central (NCCU).
This season, Thomas leads the MEAC with a 50-percent (91-of-183) field goal percentage.
Freshman standout
Saniyah King (Washington) received honorable mention after averaging 10.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in the victories versus SCSU and NCCU.
Delaware State forward Ericka Huggins was named MEAC Rookie of the Week while North Carolina Central forward Jada Tiggett earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard travels to Delaware State to take on the Lady Hornets Saturday (Feb. 15) at 2 p.m.
