CLEMSON, S.C. (February 1, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field team exceled at the Bob Pollock Invite, hosted by Clemson University, with six top 8 finishes during the two-day (Jan. 31-Feb. 1) event.
Third-year Bison
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) finished third overall in the triple jump (12.53 meters) after falling just short of the school record. Fellow classmate
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa, Fla.) also competed, taking fourth place (12.52 meters).
Armstrong and junior
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) took part in the long jump, earning fifth (5.88 meters) and sixth (5.87 meters), respectively.
On the track, graduate
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) and junior
Lauren Thompson (Frisco, Texas) represented Bison Nation in the short hurdles (60-meter) where they placed second (8.25) and fourth (8.51), respectively.
On Feb. 8, Howard returns to the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia) for the third time this indoor season, competing at the Penn Classic, hosted by the Quakers.
