Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2026 Spring Schedule

Bison Set for 17-Game Slate Featuring Eight Home Dates and Key NEC Matchups

WASHINGTON (December 3, 2025) — Howard University women's lacrosse unveiled its 2026 spring schedule, featuring a 17-game slate with eight contests inside Greene Stadium and a competitive nonconference lineup leading into conference play. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.

The Bison open the season at George Washington (Feb. 6) before returning to The Mecca for their home opener against VCU (Feb. 10). Howard then visits La Salle (Feb. 14), marking the teams' first meeting since 2024. The Bison will look to even the all-time series with La Salle holding a 2–1 edge; Howard earned a decisive 22–4 win in their only home matchup back in 2013.

Howard continues its February stretch with home dates against American (Feb. 21) and Radford (March 1) and road matchups at Columbia (Feb. 24) and George Mason (March 10) before traveling to Long Island, N.Y., to face LIU (March 14) to close out Spring Break.

NEC play ramps up with a home matchup against Le Moyne (March 21), followed by a rematch with Delaware State (March 25). HU defeated the Hornets last season, 9–8, securing the program's first win over the Hornets since 2022. Howard then returns home to host FDU (March 28) before visiting Central Connecticut State (April 4).

A challenging April slate features four home contests, beginning with Mercyhurst (April 11) and Wagner (April 18) — the latter a key meeting after the Seahawks earned a postseason berth in 2024. Howard closes regular season action at home (April 25) against Stonehill in a Senior Day matchup before the NEC Tournament begins with semifinals (April 30) and the championship (May 2).

The Bison enter 2026 looking to build on a season highlighted by All-Rookie Team selection Leah Croom (Miami), who emerged as a key contributor in the midfield. Howard also finished among the conference's top units last year in ground balls (3rd) and woman-down goals per game (3rd).

The program continues to strengthen its foundation with the addition of assistant coach Abby Hampson, who joined the staff over the summer after previous roles in player development and operations.

Howard now turns its attention to final preparations for the February opener as the Bison look to make a push up the NEC standings.
