Tuesday (Nov. 11), senior Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) scored a team-high 15 points and fellow classmate Nile Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) added 11 points to help the Bison hold off George Washington (GW), 62-60, in a crosstown nonconference clash at the Smith Center.

Freshman Tamia Watkins scored a game-high 15 points while LaNae' Corbett and Quinzia Fulmore added 14 each to lead the Phoenix to a dominant 93-48 victory over Presbyterian in front of an Education Day crowd of 3,224.

Howard is coached by Ty Grace (New Haven, '99), who is in her 11^th season at the helm. Elon is led by Charlotte A. Smith (UNC, '99), who is in her 15^th season.
 
GAME NOTES
 
This is the Bison's best start since the abbreviated season (2020-21) when they started 3-0 and went on to finish 15-4. Howard will be facing former Bison junior guard Tyana Walker, who plays for Elon. Walker was the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year three years ago.
 
SERIES RECORD
 
The series is tied at 1-1. Elon prevailed, 60-44, in North Carolina (2021) and the Bison won, 64-56, inside The Burr (2022).
