BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (October 1, 2025) – The NEC unveiled its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding performances at the annual Potomac Relays. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Senior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) won NEC Women's Swimmer of the Week while newcomer
Solomon Goins (Dallas) claimed the league's Men's Rookie of the Week.
Nwaeze guided the 200 Medley Relay squad to victory at the Potomac Relays (Sept. 26), anchoring the team with a 22.99 mark. She also led the 500 Free Relay to a win, anchoring the squad with a 1:53.50 time. The Maryland native spearheaded the 200 Free Relay team to victory, anchoring with a 23.18 mark.
Goins guided the 800 Free Relay squad to a fourth-place finish at the Potomac Relays, posting a 1:46.40 mark in the second leg position. He also led the 2x500 Free Relay team to a fourth-place finish, recording a 4:47.92 time in the first leg position.

Alyssa Napier (Wilmington, Del.) were named to the NEC Prime Performers list.
On the men's side, Le Moyne's Lucas Clay and Louis Allison were selected NEC Swimmer of the Week and Diver of the Week, respectively.
For the women, Le Moyne's Gabby Williams earned Diver of the Week while Central Connecticut State's Grace M. Young took home the conference's Rookie of the Week.
The next time Howard competes will be Saturday (Oct. 4), hosting host local rival Georgetown for the Battle at The Burr IV. First race is slated for 2 p.m., inside Burr Gym Pool.
