FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (January 6, 2025) – Howard University freshman standout
Blake Harper (Washington) took home BOXTOROW National Player of the Week for his outstanding efforts. The announcement came Monday.
The D.C. native averaged 25.0 points and 6.0 rebounds against Yale (Jan. 1) and Delaware State (Jan. 4). He shot over 59-percent (16-of-27) from the floor, including nearly 63-percent (5-of-8) from downtown, while going a perfect 13-of-13 at the charity stripe.
In the victory over Delaware State (DSU), Harper tied his career-high with 34 points while shooting 10-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. The freshman guard was also 11-of-11 from the free throw line versus DSU.
Currently, Harper leads the conference in rebounding per game (6.6) while averaging 18.5 points per game, which is third in the league.
Saturday (Jan. 11), Howard hosts Morgan State inside Burr Gymnasium. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m.
