NORFOLK, Va. (January 6, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly awards where Howard University saw freshman guard
Blake Harper (Washington) collect a pair of accolades. The announcement came Monday.
Harper took home MEAC Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week after averaging 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals against Yale (Jan. 1) and Delaware State (Jan. 4).
In Saturday's (Jan. 4) win over the Hornets, he posted a career-high 34 points while going a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line.
Earlier today, the D.C. product was selected BOXTOROW HBCU National Player of the Week.
Currently, Harper leads the conference in rebounding per game (6.6) while averaging 18.5 points per game, which is third in the league.
Norfolk State graduate guard Brian Moore Jr. earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Saturday (Jan. 11), Howard hosts Morgan State inside Burr Gymnasium. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m.
