NORFOLK, Va. (January 27, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its men's basketball weekly awards where Howard University saw D.C. native freshman standout
Blake Harper (Washington) receive his 12
th straight Rookie of the Week accolade. The announcement came Monday.
Harper averaged 14.0 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds against Morehouse and Norfolk State (NSU). In the MLK Day Classic (Jan. 20), he produced 13 points, eight dimes and six boards versus the Maroon Tigers. Saturday (Jan. 25), DMV product had 15 points and seven assists at NSU.
This season, Harper leads the MEAC with 6.8 rebounds per game.
Senior guard
Marcus Dockery (Washington) earned honorable mention after averaging 22.0 points, 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists during a two-game span.
Norfolk State graduate guard Brian Moore Jr., was named MEAC Player of the Week while fellow Spartan senior forward Kuluel Mading earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard will get a much-needed break before returning to the court to play rival Hampton Saturday (Feb. 1) at 3 p.m., at the Entertainment Sports Arena in Southeast D.C.
