PHILADELPHIA (January 25, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field team had eight top 8 finishes at the Penn 10 Elite, hosted by the Quakers.
On the track, graduate sprinter
Kailei Collins (Houston) led the way with a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.46). Third-year Bison
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.) also competed in the race, earning seventh (7.71), and took part in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 24.39 (fourth).
Junior
Lauren Thompson (Frisco, Texas) and
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) ran the 60-meter hurdles where they placed fourth (8.60) and seventh (8.82), respectively.
In the field, junior
Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) won silver in the triple jump after leaping 12.30 meters. Fellow classmate
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also competed, catapulting 11.78 meters (sixth).
Graduate
Nneka Ezeama (Smithfield, R.I.) threw the shot put, tossing 14.62 meters (fifth).
On Jan. 31-Feb. 1, Howard goes to Clemson, S.C., for the Bob Pollock Invite, hosted by Clemson University.
