WASHINGTON (May 9, 2024) – No. 2 Howard University softball team looks to keep its season alive Thursday afternoon, facing No. 5 South Carolina State (SCSU) in an elimination game at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament. First-pitch is set for 3 p.m., held on the campus of Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Va.

Wednesday (May 8), HU suffered a tough 6-4 loss to No. 3 Coppin State (CSU) in extra innings during the MEAC Tournament opening round.

HU (32-12) looks to bounce and avoid elimination against the Lady Bulldogs. Howard swept the regular season, 3-0, outscoring SCSU 24-13 in three games.

SCSU (11-29) dropped a 1-0 decision to No. 4 North Carolina Central Wednesday morning. South Carolina State made its first appearance into the MEAC Tournament since 2011 and looks to survive with a victory.
The club is led by All-MEAC selections Aaliyah Williams, Kayla Leslie and DeAsia Lowther.

With a victory, HU meets the winner between No. 1 Morgan State or No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore Friday (May 10) in another elimination game. First pitch is set for noon.
