WASHINGTON (May 7, 2024) – Howard University softball begins its quest for a second tourney title in three years at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament. The four-day event (May 8-11) takes place on the campus of Norfolk State University (NSU) in Norfolk, Va.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
HU (32-11, 16-5 MEAC) enters the tourney as the No. 2 seed after sweeping rival Norfolk State in the regular season finale. Howard recorded its second 30-win season in three years.
This season, HU ranks among the nation's best in several offensive categories, including batting average (11
th), on-base percentage (13
th) and scoring (13
th).
Sophomore outfielder
Maryn Jordan (San Diego) leads the country with a .476 batting average.
In the circle, Howard finished in the league with a 3.21 ERA, led by second-year Bison
Julia Holt (Tucson, Ariz.). The Arizona product posted a MEAC-best 1.19 ERA, which ranks sixth in the nation.
Morgan State (30-17, 18-3 MEAC) won its four consecutive regular season crown and earned the top seed. Coppin State (CSU) secured the No. 3 seed, followed by reigning MEAC Tournament Champion North Carolina Central in the No. 4 slot.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU awaits the winner between No. 3 CSU and No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore opening day (May 8).
Howard swept the Hawks during the regular season, 3-0, while taking two-out-of-three from the Eagles.
