Lacrosse Returns Home to Face FDU

Bison host Knights on Senior Day

WASHINGTON (April 12, 2024) - Howard University women's lacrosse team returns to Greene Stadium to play FDU Saturday, April 13, on Senior Day. Match time is slated for noon.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
SERIES HISTORY
 
This is the second matchup between the two programs with the Lady Bison losing last year's matchup, 21-7, in New Jersey.
 
HOWARD
 
Howard is still looking for their first win of the season (0-13, 0-7 NEC) after losing to Merrimack College (April 6), 22-4.
 
This season, attackers Marley Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.), Maya Rhymes (Coatesville, Pa.) and Chase Coleman (Houston) have led the attack for the Bison, along with midfielder/attacker Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrollton, Md.). Skeete-Ridley has scored 15 goals, followed by Coleman (12 goals).
 
Logan Ford (Charlotte, N.C.) has been in goal for 12 games this season, including 10 starts. Zahria Liggans (Detroit) played in three games with two starts against LIU and Sacred Heart.
 
FDU
 
This season, the Knights hold a 1-12 record (1-7 NEC) with their lone win coming against Delaware State, 14-10 (March 16).
 
Leading the attack for FDU are attackers Riley Eaton and Jordan Santana. Eaton has 31 points (20 goals & 11 assists), followed by Santana with 30 points (16 goals & 14 assists).
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
On April 6, the Bison lost to Merrimack, 22-4.
 
Liggans came off the bench after intermission, registering three saves in a losing effort.
 
SENIOR DAY
 
Before Saturday's showdown, head coach Karen Healy-Silcott and the program will recognize six Bison for their hard work and dedication: Ford; Liggans; Alexandra Broome (Bensville, Md.); Jaala James (Scottsdale, Ariz.); Kayla Rose (Uniondale, N.Y.) and Taylor Worsham (Severn, Md.).
 
The Senior Day presentation commences at 11:40 a.m.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Following the game against the Knights, the Bison will stay home to face Le Moyne College in their final home match of the season. The game is scheduled for Saturday, April 20, with a noon start time and can be watch on the NEC Front Row website.
