SAN FRANCISCO (March 30, 2024) – Howard University men's golf team wrapped up the week at The Goodwin, hosted by Stanford University. The three-day event took place at TPC Harding Park (par-70, 7,193 yards) in San Francisco.
Collectively, HU shot 46-over par (886), including a team-best 288 (+8) in the final round.
Graduates
Gregory Odom Jr. (Memphis, Tenn.) and
C.M. Mixon (Bowling Green, Ky.) led the way, each shooting 10-over par (220) in three rounds of action. Both Bison finished tied for 92
nd in the player leaderboard.
Fellow classmate
Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) and senior
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) registered 14-over par (224) and placed tied for 133
rd overall.
Georgia won the event by one stroke (839, -1), topping Utah (840, E). The Utes' Braxton Watts claimed the individual title (205, -5), defeating Stanford's Michael Thorbjornsen by one stroke (206, -4).
On April 6-7, Howard goes to Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton Invitational, hosted by the Tigers.
