MUNCIE, Ind. (September 27, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team competed in the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, hosted by Ball State, where they earned fifth overall in the tourney. The two-day (Sept. 26-27), 54-hole event was held at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
Collectively, the Bison shot 12-over par (+12) with five golfers finishing in the top half.
Senior
Francisco Perez (Los Mochis, Mexico) led the charge, firing 2-under par (208) while tying for fifth overall.
Fellow classmate
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) tied for 21
st place, shooting 4-over par (214).
Newcomer
Nathan Szpakowicz and senior
Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada) rounded out the Bison, tying for 37
th (217, +7) and 39
th (218, +8), respectively.
Senior
Marlon Jones (Berkeley, Calif.) competed as an individual, tying for 44
th on the player leaderboard.
Butler won the 2026 Earl Yestingsmeier Invite after recording 12-under par (828). Ball State finished runner-up (844, +4), followed by Wright State (848, +8).
Logan Sutto (Butler) won the individual crown with a 7-under par (203) performance. Luke Johnston (Ball State) took second after shooting 6-under par (204).
On Oct. 4-6, Howard goes to Dallas for the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU.
