DALLAS (October 6, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team traveled to Dallas for the annual Trinity Forest Invite, hosted by SMU (Southern Methodist University), where they placed 15
th overall. The three-day (Oct. 4-6), 54-hole tourney was held at the Trinity Forest Golf Course (par-72, 7,616 yards).
HU finished strong Tuesday afternoon, firing 1-over par (285) in round three. Over the three-day event, Howard posted an 875 (+11).
Senior
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) led the charge, shooting 1-under par (215), including a 67 (-5) on the final day. The California native tied for 31
st on the player leaderboard.
Newcomer
Nathan Szpakowicz placed in the top half, tying for 48
th overall.
East Tennessee State won the 2016 Trinity Forst Invitational, registering 32-under par (832). Southern Cal finished runner-up (835, -29), followed by Chattanooga (839, -24).
Evan Rogers (Chattanooga) won the individual title with a 16-under par (200) performance. Deitrek Gill (USC) took second place (204, -12), followed by Joshua Hill (205, -11).
The Bison will be participating in the SAS Championship, taking place Oct. 16-18 in Cary, N.C., at Prestonwood Country Club.
