NORFOLK, Va. (December 30, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University freshman guard
Blake Harper (Washington) claimed his eighth Rookie of the Week award. The announcement came Monday.
In the latest installment of the Battle of the Real HU (Dec. 28), Harper produced a career-high 34 points while shooting nearly 56-percent (10-of-18) from the floor. The D.C. product also shot 80-percent (12-of-15) from the charity stripe at Hampton.
This season, Harper tops the MEAC in rebounds per game (6.7) while ranking third in scoring (17.5 points per game).
Norfolk State graduate guard Brian Moore Jr. was named MEAC Player of the Week while Coppin State senior guard Julius Ellerbe III earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard travels to New Haven, Conn., to play Yale on New Year Day (Jan. 1). The showdown is set for 1 p.m.
