NORFOLK, Va. (December 2, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its men's basketball weekly awards where Howard University freshman standout
Blake Harper (Washington) racked up the league's Rookie of the Week honor for the fourth time this season. The announcement came Monday evening.
In two games, Harper averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists. At UMBC (Nov. 25), the D.C. native notched a career-high 20 points while shooting 50-percent (7-of-14) from the field.
Entering the weekend, Harper ranks among the conference leaders in several categories, including scoring (7
th), rebounding (t-5
th), assists (10
th) and steals (7
th).
Delaware State guard Robert Smith was named MEAC Player of the Week while North Carolina Central forward Jaqai Murray earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard travels to Cincinnati to take on the nationally ranked Cincinnati Bearcats Sunday (Dec. 8). Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
