GAME NOTES
HOWARD
Graduate guard
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) has reached double figures in all 10 games this season while moving up on the school all-time scoring list to No. 18 with 1,101 points and counting…Howell has had problems offensively the past two games, connecting on only 8-of-25 from the floor, including 3-of-17 from beyond the arc…freshman guard
Saniyah King (Washington), the early season favorite for MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year, struggled mightily in the loss at Hofstra (Dec. 8), logging the full 40 minutes and scoring a season-low four points, but managed six assists…King leads the team in assists, steals and minutes played…Thomas has come on strong with back-to-back double-doubles, connecting 16-of-her-last 29 shots while averaging 13 rebounds in the past three games...redshirt sophomore
Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.) came out of a season-long slump with a season-high 15 points despite struggling from the three-point line, missing five-of-six attempts.
ARMY
The Black Knights have held six of their opponents to under 60 points…six games have been decided by four points or less, including two victories in OT by one...interestingly, the two share a common opponent: New Hampshire…Howard defeated the Wildcats, 76-55, on November 29 in Burr and Army eked out the one-point (60-59) win over New Hampshire on the road...Trinty Hardy is the do-everything player for Army, leading the team in scoring, assists and steals…Hardy was the Patriot League Player of the Week.
NEXT UP
Howard continues its two-game home stand when it hosts Old Dominion Tuesday (Dec. 17). Tipoff is scheduled for noon and designated Education Day.
