NORFOLK, Va. (November 20, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's volleyball all-academic team where Howard University saw 10 Bison recognized for their academic excellence. The announcement came Wednesday.
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, along with transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
"I want to congratulate our women's volleyball student-athletes for maintaining a 3.0 or better grade point average," MEAC Commissioner
Sonja Stills said. "The ultimate goal is to develop and graduate our student-athletes to be productive citizens in our society, and success in the classroom is as important, if not more so, as what happens on the court."

Amanda Ifeanyichukwu (The Woodlands, Texas),
Sydnei Jones (Bridgeville, Pa.),
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.),
Leah Reeves (Allen, Texas),
Maddie Siegel (Fishers, Ind.),
Claire Simpson (Plainfield, Ill.),
Bria Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) and
Cimone Woodard (Missouri City, Texas).
Overall, the league acknowledged 73 student-athletes from its elite eight institutions who achieved academic success during the 2023-24 academic year. Delaware State led the way with 14 Hornets, followed by Morgan State and North Carolina Central with 11 scholar-athletes each.
On Nov. 22, Howard is set to play South Carolina State in the MEAC Tournament Quarterfinal Round in Dover, Del., hosted by Delaware State University.
