NORFOLK, Va. (November 19, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's volleyball weekly honors where Howard University saw third-year Bison
Leah Reeves (Allen, Texas) capture the league's Setter of the Week for the eighth straight time. The announcement came Tuesday morning.
In the win over rival Norfolk State (Nov. 15), Reeves tallied 46 total assists (15.3 per set) while adding five digs and a pair of service aces to her stat line. For her efforts, she guided the program to an undefeated conference mark since 2016 (14-0).
Reeves tops the MEAC in assists per set this season, recording 8.74 per game.
Juniors
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) and
Claire Simpson (Plainfield, Ill.) earned honorable mention for the performances against Norfolk State.
Coppin State's TaKenya Stafford was named MEAC Player of the Week while fellow Eagle Coco Figueroa was selected Defensive Player of the Week. Delaware State's Paige Ahakuelo was named Rookie of the Week.
On Nov. 22, Howard is set to play South Carolina State in the MEAC Tournament Quarterfinal Round in Dover, Del., hosted by Delaware State University.
